Are you okay? - I hope so
Are you happy? - I hope so
On this post I want to share some feeling about a change on new release of Fedora. I'm a Vietnamese, so I have to work with Vietnamese input everyday. On F17 Beefy Miracle, there are something change on setting of IBus, that is how to enable or disable input method. Just try to control it!
To work with Vietnamese characters, I have to install IBus-unikey to have a smart input method. Use this command to install it
bash# yum install ibus-unikeyIf you hadnot ever activate IBus and make it default input method, just hit this command to set:
im-chooserAfter installing, I have to setup to add IBus-unikey to method of IBus. To invoke "IBus preferences" wizard, just hit this command on terminal or from "Alt + F2" context:
ibus-setupWhen you have already add your input method to IBus method list, you may back to General tab to setup hot-keys to invoke ibus or change method.
When I upgrade to this version of Fedora, I have a trouble to set special key to key combination (such as Ctrl or Alt). You have not a dialogue to choose keys. Insteads, you have to enter it manually. For this instance, I want to use Ctr+Alt+z to invoke my IBus-Unikey. So, I enter this key combination:
<Ctrl><Alt>zAfter all, try to log out or restart IBus to apply new changes.
Hope this tip can make you feel better :)
Tata for now!
